Like the title says, I just bought a 1920X1080 1080p
LCD TV and I am using it with my computer.

So when I click on the desktop and select resolution, It says 1920X1080.

When I Click on nvidia control panel and check the resolution it says 1080p 1920X1080.

BUT... When I check the current display resolution on Speccy or any other hardware monitoring software, it says that the current resolution being displayed is 1280X720.

The colors also look a little saturated when playing games, It does not look like 1080P.

what could this be?

Here are my Specs::

Asus GTX 970 Strix
i7-4790k
HDMI cable from graphics card to TV

Solution
check with the tv vendor to see what the max setting is for pc input..in the tv setting make sure pc mode is on. check that your on the gpu and not the onboard mb video port. if you have a monitor and the tv...make sure you know if your using monitor one or monitor two for the tv. try booting into safe mode..remove any of the old drivers. may have to use a video driver sweeper..then try the newest drivers from nvidia web page. in nvidia control panel make sure if your using one monitor...it set to one..by default the nvidia control set it self as two. the last issue can be a cheap hdmi cable. the newer cables should be rated for hdmi 1.4a.

How do I find to max pc settings output?

The manual only states PC mode through the use of the VGA port. My guess (and it is only a guess) is that your HDMI inputs will not accept a 1080p signal from a PC. Your graphics card should have a DVI-I output and hopefully came with a DVI to VGA adapter. If so, try connecting your PC to the HDTV using that to the VGA port on the TV. Otherwise, try all three HDMI inputs to see if there is any change.
