Resolution v Graphics Card

Hi all

My Dell laptop has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics card. I need to run an external monitor with the highest possible resolution (for work) but finding it difficult to determine what resoltion the card can deliver

Can anyone please help

depends on what you need to display on this external monitor. my laptop has an integrated radeon 4250 and i watch 1080P movies on a 40" tv with it. No problems at all, and i can almost do it in low power mode (stutters a little when i do so i gotta use balanced or high power for hd movies)

depend on moniter pixels how much size moniter are you going to use and which resolution.

Depends on which port you use and as drew said, depending on your usage you might get slow performance at high resolution with that card.

I'll be viewing price charts/graphs (candlestick charts) for currencies / commodities etc. Ideally I need 24" Monitor to display several weeks of data, there's a lot of fine detail in the chart I need to see clearly

To get you a full explanation would require a bit of big tech words
Basically, HDMI is for consumer audio and video connections like from a DVD or BluRay player to a TV and Display Port is pretty much for PC to monitor connections. HDMI can be used for PC to monitor connections also, but there are a few tech differences. If you read up on both standards at www.wikipedia.com you can find out all the details if you want.
