Resolution will not pass 1400x1050

Hi! Sorry if this is the wrong thread; I wasn't entirely sure where to post this.

So I have a problem... my computer and gateway monitor normally run at 1920x1080. Today when i turned on my pc, my resolution was set to 800x600 and it WILL NOT go past 1400x1050 and there is no option to go past it. Also, when i go to control panel and screen resolution, the display only says (Default Monitor) ON, when normally it says Gateway or something like that.

Look up your monitor and see if you can download display drivers for it.

So I checked device managers, and my ATI Radeon 5800 Series has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it.
Then it says in the Device status " Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)"

Update:
Went into the control panel to troubleshooting hardware and devices. It found the same error as before and it is attempting to reinstall the drivers.
Problems found:
LDDM Graphics subsystem is disabled. NOT FIXED (red x)
Hardware changes might not have been detected. DETECTED (yellow triangle)
Ati Radeon HD 5800 Series has a driver problem. FIXED (green checkmark).

i still cannot go above 1400x1050 though..

Finally fixed it! Just had to do another restard after i went through the troubleshooter! thanks for all the help

I would go to AMD's website and download the newest drivers for your card.

Uninstall the current driver and re-install the correct driver.
