Question Resolution

Hi, my max resolution is like 2k, but when I'm changing the resolution to 1920x1080 the screen goes black and says no signal or something like that, do I need to buy another cable to get it work? I have VGA cable.

What monitor do you have?

Fujitsu, max resolution I can use now is 1600x900 and it's an old monitor btw.

Can you provide an exact model of the monitor as well as the output on the computer? Such as the graphics card or motherboard (if you are using integrated graphics)

No idea about the model of the monitor, it's 20 inch and I got GTX960.
