I was reading in a magazine and it said for multiplayer games they just turn the resolution up to the highest, and lower settings to where they can get 60 fps. Why would they want the resolution so high? Can you actually see more detail?

Anxiously awaiting prescott....is it here yet?

Ok I'll try.

I don't know why they want the res so high, but my guess is that some folks prefer to play with an absurdly high POV, enabling them to see more of their environment (otherwise known as borderline cheating)

Problem with high POV is that quite a bit of detail is lost in the center. By playing with a higher res, one would perhaps be able to see the center section with a bit more clarity, while enjoying the benefits of the above.

If I get it wrong, oh well, at least I get one extra post count, muwhaha!

Oh no sorry, got it mixed up. Should be FOV, field of view. Imagine having the center of your view narrow down to close to a point. Then the sides stretching. Yea, it'd look something like that.
