Hi everyone,
I am 33, an architect, and I use 3ds max extensively. However, in the past three years I started suffering from a headache when reading tiny text. I have been using a 20-inch LCD monitor for three years. I always use 1280 by 800 pixels which is fine for me. I was able to notice that the tiny text of the 3ds max menus is causing more pain in the head and right eye. Unfortunately, it seems that there is no way to increase the text size of the menus unless I use a lower resolution. DPI scaling in Windows does not affect these menus either.
Therefore I have decided to buy a larger monitor. 27-inch IPS LED. Of course I intend to use higher resolutions than 1280x800 for gaming and all other purposes, but the main aim is to make it 1280x800 when using 3ds max to get 35 percent larger pixels. I have also done a size test using Photoshop and I think the larger text will look much more comfortable. I know this may sound somewhat ridiculous, but I have no other choice apparently than to use this very low resolution on a large monitor. I think I will use 1600x900 for windows explorer and other uses with DPI scaling.
There is however one doubt now. You know, sometimes, using specific resolutions on specific native resolutions creates very ugly results. My question is: will a 27-inch monitor display a 1280x800 clearly? Can anyone provide a screenshot?
Thanks in advance
