Amazon are famous for using oversize boxes stuffed with protective material of one sort or another, and inside that box is the manufacturer's box.

@alexoiu - a 1 lb cable is unlikely. but possible I guess.

@Phillip Corcoran - I weighed the manufacturers boxes, not the shipping boxes. Also, Amazon is famous for doing a piss-poor job of packaging computer hardware, over-stuffing a shipping box or using a properly sized box would be a miracle.
