Question resource monitor showing 16 cores Ryzen 7 5800x

Ryzen 7 5800x
crucial 500gb m.2
Radeon rx 560 4gb
win 10 pro x64

when i open resource monitor it is showing 16 cores now this is a Ryzen 7 5800x what would be causing this should i do a bios flash ? this is a clean install .. also i used all cpu monitor gadget it also shows 16 cores on a 8 core cpu
