I'm planning on using a ns-32d512na15 as a gaming display & computer display. Would it suffice for those purposes, and if not, why not?
Also, what is the input lag for the TV?
Thanks.

RESPONSE TIME:
It may be 8ms, but that's only going to affect how much "ghosting" you get with moving objects (and there are also other factors that affect this as well).

INPUT LAG:
This is what determines how much "lag" you feel between doing something and seeing it update on the screen. Some HDTV's are over 40ms and by the time you add that to the other delays it can make a noticeable difference versus a good gaming monitor that might be 10ms.

*I couldn't find the lag rating. You could just try it and see how it feels. It's mostly going to matter for fast-paced games like shooters.

**Use it?

I was going to delve further but then came across this: http://www.tomsguide.com/us/insignia-32d311na15-32-inch-tv,review-2472.html

Aside from the apparently crappy quality and what appears to be possibly high input lag or similar issue ("inability to keep up with fast motion was instantly detectable") it's also only a 1366x768 resolution screen. That's going to be a big problem with a 32" screen if using as a computer monitor.

You can go ahead and try it. If on a budget, maybe you'll find it acceptable for your usage.

That's a different TV. The one I have is 1080p.

Response time is not what's going to make things appear smooth, not even once will even a what's considered a "slow" display, ghost the entire image on screen, just fast moving objects, like photonboy says. With that said, should stay away from super cheap displays. Chances are high that spending slightly more, will get you a much better experience in return.

You can actually use 720 displays and have virtual resolutions to 1080p. all resolutions are good, some are terrible yea, but that's earlier technology. I use 1080p for gaming but use 720 for anything else for the clarity. It is just more normal I guess. frames are just how many pictures form in that time frame, to make it smooth also depends on alot of other factors as well.

There are many famous and very high ranking well known Esport players that focus and game on much smaller monitors and resolutions most would not even believe. performance is so latency displays not to big small and apparently terrible D:

also some famous Esport players specifically league of Legends tend to play in Windowed and small
