restoration of the number of cores setting in an i5 processor and windows 8

i accidently switched my number of core settings to one core in an i5 processor in windows 8 & it is slowing down the speed of my pc can anyone please help me to put it back to normal!!!

That should be a bios setting. Just do a CMOS reset.

that's win7, not sure where they might have pointlessly moved the setting to in win8, so use your best intuition to find your way to the same sort of place.
