Question Restore a new drive using a Macrium image

Hi there...

I've read & seen many YouTube videos where people explain how to restore a drive to an earlier version using a macrium image.

What if my drive dies & I have a backup image on another drive... How do I restore the image I have on a new drive?

You would boot from a previously prepared (from within Macrium) USB flash drive "recovery media".

That would lead you to the Macrium interface on the USB flash drive.

From there, you would use menus to direct the restoration to a new drive.

On the Macrium toolbar, select Other Tasks - Create Rescue Media.
You'll need a small capacity flash drive.

Do this now.
Stash it away for potential future use.


If you need to recover to some new drive, boot from this flash drive, point it at the Image you created, and the drive you wish to recover to.

I have one laying in the bottom of my case.
If I need to replace a drive, I have to open up the case anyway. And its sitting right there, can't get lost or overwritten.

I just did the image restore from within the rescue windows. It's halfway now, but all looks good 👍🏽 Thank you all.
