Restore failed half way- Won't boot off HD

I have another machine. Is thyere a way to copy files from the recov. DVD onto that drive using another machine? Will make that HD a secondary drive on another system. Thx

It is not recommended to try ad-hoc repair of a broken Windows installation through copying the files from a recovery DVD directly. Can you clarify further what your current setup is, and what you want to do to make the first machine work?

I'm trying to restore with my restore DVD's(set of 3 burned from the drive (Acer doesn't give you any originals). 1st time ever needing to restore and it just errors out 1/2 way through disc 2 making it worthless. The drive is newly formatted so it has nada on it.
