Restore formatted partition

So I wanted to format my new SSD, but silly me ended up reformatting my external hard drive with 1.5 TB of data (ouch). It was only a quick format. I can recover it with recovery software but this takes forever. Is there also software that can restore the old partition table etc? I haven't written anything on it since the format.

Well, you don't really have many options.
You can try to run some partition recovery software. Yet, as the one that you've already tried, it would take some time.
