restore only 1 mailbox

It is possible on winnt4 restore a single mailbox with ntbackup?

Depends how you backed it up. I would assume you are running Exchange 5.5?
Typically unless you are using an Exchange aware backup program this is not
possible without a lot of work. Typically it involves restoring the entire
store to a seperate server and then using something like Exmerge to extract
the mailbox into a .pst or just connecting to this server from a client to
get to the mailbox. This obviously isn't the real detailed procedure but
just an overview of how it is when your not backing up with an Exchange
aware program. You should have a look at Veritas with the Exchange Agent as
it will give you this ability in the blink of an eye! Also Exchange 2k3 has
the ability to create a Restore Mailbox Store for the purpose of restoring
these types of things and that is built in. This of course doesn't help you
at this point 😉
