restore raid backup to non-raid disk?

My raid crashed, and until I can repopulate the drives, I need to get the server running somehow. Can I restore a backup of a raid system (with two volumes) onto a non-raid single drive? Does restore handle partition creating?

It's your backup solution, that determines, what is possible and how it operates.
Restore to to non-raid drive - most likely possible;
Partition creating during restore - depends on backup solution.

I was using whatever comes built into Server 2008 R2, which looks a lot like Windows 7.
