Hello,
I need to restore Registry and COM+ registration on Domain Controller, I don't need restore Active Directory and SYSVOL.
Do I have to do start server in a safe mode called directory services restore mode and than do restore?
Or I just can do normaly restore, becouse I don't restore AD and SYSVOL?

Thanks for your time,
Djis

As far as i know if you used ntbackup you can only restore
the whole registry, the registry comprises

Active Directory (NTDS)
The boot files
The COM+ class registration database
The registry
The system volume (SYSVOL)

all must be restored as a whole. Of coz in AD restore
mode. Don't worry, as long as you don't restore ad
authoritatively , newer changes of other dcs will be
replicated.
