Question Restoring a deteriorated SATA port

There are 10 SATA ports on my Gigabyte GA X58A - UD5 motherboard; one of them will NO LONGER allow the PC to boot from it. I have tried many different SATA leads,
without improvement. If a drive is connected to it, the drive shows in THIS PC. Can that port be restored to its former abilities ? I'm running 32bit Win10 Pro v1809 in Antec Sonata 1; Ultra Durable; Intel CPU 7i
