Here is a link to my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Smithj/saved/c6JRsY

I have been running the build with no problems for a couple of weeks, but on our last boot we had a boot failure that indicated we needed to repair the disk? We never figured out what happened, but we reinstalled Windows 8.1 (on the SSD drive) and everything seems to be ok except the Western Digital 1TB drive now shows up as a system restore drive with a maximum capacity of only 386 MB? I have found information about a downloadable fix to restore the drive capacity from Atola.com, but it seems that it only works for a 32 bit OS and we are using the 64 bit OS.

We are looking for help to restore the capacity of the 1TB WD HDD drive preferably without losing the files on the drive.

Thanks.

Hey Smithj52. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your drive. Did you remember to install Windows with all HDDs disconnected from the motherboard except for the SSD? A lot of times this could cause booting issues or partition issues like the ones in your case. Would you please post a screenshot of what you see when you go to Disk Management? Is there unallocated space shown for the WD drive except for the 386MB partition?
First I'd suggest that you try to access the drive with Linux Live USB/CD to see if you are able to see the partition properly and recover your files. If that doesn't work, I'd recommend that you try some of the data recovery options from this thread here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html
After you recover your data, I'd suggest that you try to reformat the HDD and see if that fixes the issue with the capacity.
You could also test the drive with DLG (Data Lifeguard Diagnostic) just in case, to see if anything alarming pops-up. You can download it from here: Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows

Hope that helps.
