restoring disk image without OS

I guess this is me showing my age as im sure this topic is well covered but im not well versed enough to track it down.

im building a new rig yet again, and i want to be able to restore my win7 OS from an image on a secondary drive without entering the OS (preferably without having to create a windows environment disk)

my motherboard will support UEFI and ill be running a 64gb ssd for boot and a 256 for data.

any recommendations or tips?

try downloading hiren boot cd , it is an iso image you will have to burn to CD full of great utilities ,
on there you will find a program called mini windows you could try restoring your os from there , not sure if it will work

Most backup software allows you to create some form of rescue disk(CD).
