Just type "1" (without the quotes) and hit enter. It
should then ask for your administrator password and then
allow you to use all of the repair functions available on
the XP CD.

Thanks for your help. I have absolutely no idea what to put
in for the administrator password though. Please can you
help? Is there anything else that will happen after the
password that you think I should know?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Many thanks for your help.

I'm not exactly sure. It's either the password that you
use to log onto the main account on your computer or it
is a blank password in which case you would just hit
enter when it asks for the admin password. After this you
should be good to go. If you need any other help, post or
email me.

If you do not know the password then there is not much you can do.....but
wait.....there is a way.....if the hard disk is formatted in NTFS then look
on the internet for program NTFSDOS or READNTFS. Both are DOS programs that
will run under DOS. You will still need a bootable floppy to run one of
these programs. If on the other hand the Windows is formatted in FAT32 then
you do not even need these programs - simply use dos copy function.

Kyle, I'm having the same problem as nikki, however, I'm entering 1 and
hitting enter then I'm NOT being prompt for my administrator password. The
C:\Windows prompt is displayed. My next step was to MD TMP, but I get
"directory could not be created" would this be because I'm not logged in as
an administrator? How do I logon in as an administrator from the DOS prompt?
