Restoring My Pc

I am looking to restore my pc. I have an external hard drive big enough to hold every single file on my computer. Will doing this speed up my computer? I have a couple of viruses on my computer I cannot get rid of. How should I go about doing this? I want to keep all my files but remove the virus and repair any damage done to my registry or any other area of my computer. Will I also need to worry about file locations? Eg, launching a steam game I moved back onto my pc?

I'd install fresh to your other hard drive.... then scan your current hardd rive for viruses after as a secondary unit. then transfer data after.


download and run Belarc once and save the page that comes up on a usb thumb drive: will document all your licenses.

I am not sure how to install windows onto the external and use it as a primary? I dont want to screw anything up. and no there is nothing wrong with my harddrive. I have tried multiple anitvirus programs though.
