My PC was not working last weekend. one of the ways I tried to fix it was to reinstall windows; it didn't work and now my PC doesn't recognize all the programs on it. is there a way to restore the old user info using the windows.old folder?
...well I have some programs that installed I on another drive due to the OS drive small size; is the a program or something I can do that will make the new OS recognize them?
Only reinstallation will recreate the necessary registry entries. If you don't have the original installation media then you are out of luck.
no, if your friend did a clean install then you will have to reinstall all your programs

well the programs I'm worried about are mainly Steam, Origin, and possibly the utilities(unity, flash, ect). I can easily find those.
