Restoring Windows 10 to fresh with just a few important files

Hello
I have found that my PC will boot up and play games fine for a short while, but after being on an hour or so (particularly if I don't game on it in that time), games start to get choppy despite high frame rates, like it is stuttering. And on few occasions the frames drop.
However the temps for GPU and CPU are fine and the GPU fans rarely have to ramp up.

For instance on my 1070 in R6S at lowest possible settings, I play at around 200 FPS and it can still feel choppy, and sometimes the frames drop to 150 odd and often there will be a crash.

I assume this is a software issue, so I want to completely wipe Windows back to basics, but have a folder of files I need to keep.
Is there a way to do this easily without a memory stick with Windows on?
Is there an option in windows to fresh install itself on to my SSD and then maybe keep the other files I want to keep on a wiped HDD in the PC?

Any help appreciated.

If you want to reinstall windows, then you can
  • copy your important files to hdd,
    disconnect hdd, connect only ssd,
    boot from windows install media,
    clean ssd,
    reinstall windows and
    connect hdd after that.
But I'm not sure, if that will solve your issue.

Can you run MSI afterburner after you experience choppiness/stuttering and make screenshot from MSI Afterburner hardware monitoring window?
(graphs important - fps, cpu usage/temp, gpu usage/temp, video memory usage, ram usage, pagefile usage).

Hardware monitoring window looks like this:

OK, so I did a fresh install and downloaded drivers etc.

I loaded into game and so far it seems smooth, however the issue was sporadic before so a few hours of stable use isn't a guarantee it worked.

I have never used afterburner and am not the best with the more technical stuff like this, but I'll see what I can do.

I am looking in afterburner and am not 100% sure what I am looking for. It's a lot of info displaying the GPU performance but I can only see those graphs you posted in a tiny box at the bottom that I can't seem to expand.

So I loaded up a game, nothing intensive as it's low settings in a training arena. The FPS stayed high and I haven't yet experienced any issues with the previous stuttering, if I do I will update with that info. Do I just have to leave the graphs up, as I don't know how to stop them form overlaying onto my games

I am no expert, so I can't interpret those graphs, although the CPU usage does seem a little excessive for messing about in a practice arena in a game and having a few tabs and applications up.

EDIT: Not sure why the images haven't loaded up. Posted the links instead.

Ah missed those.
The Ram was a min of 3161 and max 5822, just looking at it while i'm just using the pc for general use, it seems to rest around 3450
Pagefile was min 5300 and max 8606, and for general use around 5700

I can't go back long enough to view the graph but the idle graph looks pretty stable.

Not sure what those numbers mean, any reason to be alarmed?

Here is an article for re-installing Windows 10 that might be helpful (ZDnet): https://www.zdnet.com/article/hands-on-with-windows-10-upgrading-installing-and-activating-in-the-real-world/

Ok, rather annoyingly I think I noticed some stuttering again, frames dropped from 200+ to around 160-170 (still over my 144Hz monitor however so shouldn't have been an issue). Although it did take a good long while to repeat itself where as before it was half an hour after boot almost every time.

These were all the graphs I have in the programme (the stuttering started in the final quarter):

Not sure what the issue could be to be honest.
