Restrict WIFI range to 1 foot (30cm)

I want to install free internet access but only to people within the proximity of a table. Is there any way to limit the range of wifi signal to 1 foot ?

Hi there

I don't have any specific set up. It's for anyone who sit at the table, whether it's a laptop MAC/PC, tablet or handphone. I just don't want people to have access to that beyond the distance.

I did not ask what the people who should use the WIFI are trying to connect with. What are you using so that we could guess where to set the range?

And besides that - "1 foot" is a bit low to have people "who sit at the table" within range. What kind of table are you talking about? A rectangular table at home (surrounded by your own walls that dampen any signal)? Or a square table in the middle of a public diner?

What device will be propagating the WiFi signal?

Limiting it to 1 foot, or even 5 feet, is going to be almost impossible. Radio waves don't work like that.
