I have removed my old sata HDD and connected externally to another computer. Yhe drive is recognized but the only file I see is the bootsqm file. I nned to get my data files. Where are they?

Hey Leob. Did the drive had any problems before you disconnected it? You could try to get to your data by accessing the drive via Linux Live CD/USB, or by trying some of the data recovery solutions offered in this thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html

Also it wouldn't hurt to make a full scan of your drive with your anti-virus program (with updated database) and check if the files are not hidden for some reason as well - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=windows-7

Hope that helps.
