Ok people, I will say it right now, I have absolutely no experience with this type of thing, so please be merciful! I am planning on getting a new computer soon. My current one is an HP Pavilion Elite (about 4 years old) and it has a CD/DVD burner that works just fine. My question is, can I take it out and use it in my next computer (that I am building myself and on which I will mainly be gaming), or do I/should I buy a new one? Thank you in advance!

as long as your old burner is a SATA burner your good to go(One has a power plug and a thin ribbon the other has a power plug and a large ribbon (see pic below)
