Reverse the Cpu Cooler

Hey guys,

I am thinking of a buying a Cooler Master X6 cpu cooler but i have corsair vengeance RAM which sticks out a bit and the cpu fan wont be able to go over the top of it. I dont want to waste money buying new ram just to fit the fan so i was thinking of just puting the fan on the reverse side instead so it pushes the hot air out the exhaust. Is this a good idea or is it better to have the fan blowing cool air onto the fins? Thanks

Why don't you just first try fitting the HS the way you think will fit.

You can mount it that way yes, or move the fan slightly higher up the Hs to accomodate the ram
