Reverse thrust FS9

I cannot get reverse thrust to work properly.
Pressing F2 results in intermittent thrust reversal.
I am aware that the throttle control is and always has
been a bone of contention in FS.
My joystick is a CH Flightstick Pro and I have FSUIPC
V3.3 installed. Calibration in FS9 is OK and set up in
FSUIPC would appear to be correct.

Any ideas?

You must press and hold the F2 key in order for reverse
thrust to work properly. Once you get down to about
60KIAS, press F1 to cancel reverse thrust. Then mash the
brakes and clear the runway.

reg,

i was told here in these forums that sometimes we overlook the obvious, so
true !
i've been guilty of that more than once 🙂
but, could it be that upon landing you have IAS engaged ?
if throttle is not completly back into idle position, or if IAS is set,
reverse thrusters will not work properly, or not at all.

just a thought.

goodluck!

I have/am having the same problem.

There is a panel from designer Marcos Spada for the 737NG
with filename, "b73ng04" - in it, there is an "autoland"
gauge. This gauge automatically extends spoilers,
engages reversers, and retracts flaps upon touchdown. It
does not give fully automatic landings though. Autopilot
needs to be disengaged still at 100 feet.

I have flown a test on this and the autopilot will land -
actually, it will more like crunch, on landing, and
the "autoland" will invoke. For smoother landings, I'm
disconnecting autopilot at CAT II height 400 AGL and
keeping "autoland" gauge for reverse thrust.

The gauge also applies braking to the point of "full
stop" on the runway, so, about 5 seconds after touchdown,
I am turning off "autoland".

Some say that this problem relates to the joystick/yoke
you are flying with. I'm using a CH-PRO which doesn't
seem to have developed a new driver for FS - so, instead
of specifying CH-PRO, I'm going with the generic MS
equivalient.

This unfortuneately has caused some other little quirks,
namely "left forward" view is inop and reverse thrust
just doesn't seem to be able to be independently actuated.

As regards, FSUIPC, I understand that the shareware
version of FSUIPC clears up the reverser problem, but I
haven't tried that out.

>Thanks all; but the malfuntion on reverse thrust was due
to a mistake by myself. With FSUIPC 3.3 the reverse
thrust, when set correctly, operates on the control
throttle and not on the F2 key. The setup is as follows.
Calibrate the Joystick making sure that throttle is
calibrated from full min to full max. In FSUIPC click the
Joystick tab. On page 1 select Map to 4 Throttles. Move
to page 3 of 8 and using the Throttle 1 axis click Reset
and then set Reverse, Idle and Full as required. The
other three throttles will map throttle 1. We live and
learn, always read all of the literature. Thanks again
