hello i downloaded a program that had a virus ...after i removed the virus i opened my groove music player but there were only 1000 songs when im supossed to have 3000 so i checked the folder wich contains the files and found out that the virus changed the file extensions of most of my songs thats why my player was only detecting 1000 instead of 3000 files ...i tried to manually change the file extensions of the song files back to .mp3 but when i open the properties of the file it still reads .nile instead of .mp3 so is there a way i can rename the files back to how they were?

Solution
".nile" ransomware.
Your files are encrypted. Before long, you'll get a popup, requesting money to get the decryption code.

You can't just rename...the actual files are encrypted, no matter what you call them.
