Reverting to old installation of Windows XP?

I think this is the right place to post this question ut if not could someone
please point me in the right direction. I am not quite sure what happened to
my computer since my friend was the last person to touch it. It looks like
he reinstalled windows xp on top of the old version because I can't restore
the computer to a date prior to the problem. All of the desktop and start
menu is back to basics and there are no drivers installed for my printer,
wireless pci card, etc(cant even rollback). Basically I am still a user but
all of my user data and preferences are no longer under my user profile. I
have found all of my files but am more confused as to whats going on the more
I try to figure this out. If its possible I would like to get into a time
machine and go back to the moment I let my friend disconnect everything to
organize my wires and scream NO but even microsoft hasnt figured out time
travel quite yet. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!! This is my last working computer
since I can't figure out how to get my wireless connection working in my
laptop. I am a college student in desperate need of a word precessor,
printer, digital recorder program, and the internet. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need to reload drivers or just follow documentation on your
wireless devices that came with your notebook. It should describe how to
renable them.
