Main usage will be rendering/programming while also gaming (csgo) sometimes. Will be upgrading to a 144hz monitor when I get enough money.

You have a pretty good build, I would go closed loop liquid cooling but besides that I like It.
Oh and RAM works best in pairs so It might be better to get 2X4 GB.

Thanks, I'm kind of short on money right now so cooling will have to wait. For the ram I'll be getting another par of the same so it'll work better in pairs like you've mentioned.

Two memory modules are necessary for dual channel operation. I would say it's imperative to maximize bandwidth based on your stated purposes.

Get an i5 4690k and a gtx 970. Your GPU should be the most expensive part of your build not cpu

I'll be doing some cpu intensive things in the future so getting the i7 4790k is kind of a must have for me.
