There's a review of the Gainward on anandtech.com

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1619

but it does not compare it to other 4200s. I'm having the same delema. I don't know if I sould get the 4200 or 4400. For a little less than $100 difference, it doesn't appear that you get much more performance.

With the new NV30 comming out, I think by the end of the year, it seems like a good idea to buy the cheaper card now (if you really need a card now) and upgrade to a better card latter.

Just my 2 cents...

I would suggest Gainward becuase their card offer good image quality. I have read from an interview with nVidia Engineer. When ask about the image quality problem the engineer states that it not GPU's problem and it is just some mamufacturer using low quality part. The engineer point out that the nVidia reference board have good image quality and so does Gainward Graphic card.

I'd recommend the Gainward Ti4200 64MB w/out TV-out or DVI. It is only ~$150 and has 3.5ns RAM. It would overclock great. Also if you really need more features, I'd get the Gainward Ti4200 64MB or 128MB Retail. Also the Ti4400 aren't too much more expensive. The Gainward Ti4200 128MB are around $210 and the Leadtek Ti4400 is only $250.

Thanks alot for all the opinions. :). Well, I think i need the dvi output, becos i am not planning to upgrade my vga card for another around 2-3 years, while i may upgrade my monitor. Well, my consideration are those two, either leadtek or gainward. Anyway, how about ABIT Siluro? is ABIT good? Oh yeah, i also not playing FPS. dunno whether that makes a difference in your opinion.

FYI, my current vga is Diamond Stealth 4 mb, it has lasted for about 4 years, so i think i do really need to upgrade my vga.

Thanks alot,

Regards,

Well you could always get the Gainward with the DVI and TV-out and with 3.5ns RAM for a bit more. ABIT is a pretty good manufacturer, but I've never heard anything extremely good about them. What kind of games do you play? FPS are probably one of the most detailed kind of game, so you may not need too great of a card.
