Hi guys,

I recently bought the following case:

Thermaltake view 31 Tg Rgb edition

And the following motherboard:

Asus prime z390-a

The case comes with Rgb fans that use a cable that connects to a little board on the back of the case which has 3 holes on the motherboard's end but the motherboard only has a 4-pin aura rgb connector and therefore I am not able to connect it. Also the header on the motherboard is 12V whereas the cable is 5V.

Am I right to assume I will need to buy a separate connector or rgb controller? If so, is there any you would recommend?

I attached a picture of the cable I've got and a sheet that came with the cade which explains how to connect the rgb to the motherboard. Thanks and have a lovely day!

12v is normally for strips not argb fans. Your board doesn't have an argb fan header. You'll only find that on higher grade boards not the budget offerings.

Internal I/O Ports
2 x Aura RGB Strip Headers

You'll need a seperate argb controller that's compatible with the TT fans. Addressable RGB (ARGB) is not the same as RGB. Rgb is 1 solid color at any given time to all the leds, ARGB is seperate colors to seperate leds which can also be a solid color. Basically ARGB is capable of a Rainbow affect, RGB is not.

Thanks a lot for your help! Is there any controller you'd recommend?

I found a few online but I don't seem to be able to identify whether they are compatible with my fans. There is a TT one but it says its only compatible with 5v argb motherboards.
