Question RGB compatibilities among plugs

My sons rgb remote fan controller has 8 thin male slots, every rgb fan i look at doesn't have these thin 4 slot connectors, they either come with something that connects right to the motherboard or to one of the power cables from the power supply. after searching i have turned up nothing! can anyone help me with what i may be searching for? or any solutions honestly would be great as im just learning this end of PC building.

Often fan controllers come with special connectors made to be used with certain brand of fans. Would help if you listed the brand and model of the fan controller.
