I bought an rgb strip that comes with a remote control box and remote. Out one side of the box is the standard 4 pin rgb male end and on the other is a 5.5x2.1 mm cylindrical connector port. The kit came with one of the cylindrical connectors that you can plug into a wall socket(and it works fine then) but I wanted to plug it directly into my power supply. I bought a molex(male) to 5.5x2.1 mm male connector to connect the molex(female) wire coming out of my power supply to the remote control box. Everything connects fine and everything is rated at 12 volts DC but the lights arnt turning on. I narowed down the problems to something with the power supply box, Molex(female) wire, or the molex(male) to 5.5x2.1 mm connectors bought. Is it a problem with a faulty piece of hardware or is this connection not supposed to work? I must note that the power supply is not currently in a pc build(just plugged in by itself) and the only thing that could be powered by it is that rgb strip.
