Hi,

I've recently bought 2 top fans which are Cooler Master's MF120R RGB R4-C1DS-20PC-R1, and I'm a bit stuck with the RGB installation.

My mobo is a Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite, case is Cooler Master K500.

The front intake fans' RGB cables are connected to the header named 6) LED_C in the user manual, they work fine.
There are two Digital LED headers on the mobo, can I connect the top fans' RGB cables to this header ( 7) D_LED1/D_LED2 in the user manual) with an RGB splitter?
If so, next to these headers there are Power Select Jumpers (5V default), should this be changed to 12V?

Thank you for any support!

First you need to read the manual again.
  1. The MB has 1x LED header for cpu cooler, 1X LED_C ( it can support up to 2 Amp, 12V, 4-pin regular RGB ), 2X D-LED ( they can support 2 Amp, 12V or 5V, 3pin only, or Digital RGB or AKA addressable-RGB ).
  2. Because the new fans can draw 0.37A each. https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/coolers/case-fan/masterfan-mf120r-rgb/
  3. Check your case fans to see what Amp they will draw.
If all of the RGB fans will draw less then 1.8 Amp ( they should ), because you need some headroom, then you can buy the splitter to connect to the LED_C header.
Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Way-LED-RGB-Splitter-Cable/dp/B07BTYGK58/ref=asc_df_B07BTYGK58/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241985258521&hvpos=1o13&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2125108506965117706&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007284&hvtargid=pla-501966438957&psc=1

And if you use the D-LED, they have only 3-pin you can not control the RGB light, but make sure you set the jumper to 12V, because the fan will use the 12V.

Thank you for the detailed answer!

I couldn't find any info how many Amps the front case fans would draw (they are also 120mm), I'm concerned of frying the mobo with 4 RGB fans into one header.

If I would use the D-LED header for the top fans, I couldn't sync them via Gigabyte fusion (color cycle etc.), is that correct?

Thanks in advance for your help!

On the LED-C header there is already a 5-way RGB splitter, with the 2 front fans and the power button LED connected. The 4th is also connected to something which I'm trying to figure out. Do you think I could connect the 2 top fans to the splitter or would it be too much for 2A?
Should I buy an RGB controller instead?

Thanks in advance!

I guess the 4th one may be the RGB lights on the case. Assuming the 4 fans will draw 1.48A ( 4x 0.37A), and + the power button or the case RGB lights, I think they should draw less then 2Amp, because I can't find anything about them, it is hard to say yes or not, you should contact CM tech support first, before you buy other splitter for 4 fans+the power button+the case RGB lights.

But recommend , like you said buy the RGB controller instead, like https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/coolers/rgb-accessories/rgb-led-controller/
