So my case and motherboard are not compatible, after stating that they are. I have a case wire that is a 5v 3 pin rgb wire, and that does not plug into the motherboard at all. The closest plug is the 4 pin rgb header, but it is 12v. Is there an adaptor or something that can allow these to talk with each other?

Case: Phanteks Eclipse p350x
Motherboard: Asus Z270-A

There is no 4 pin. Only 2 different 3 pins one for halo fans and 1 for a 5v rgb header. The motherboard only outputs 12v for rgb.

The '4 pin' connector from the case is only 3 pin in reality (one of the pin holes isn't wired).

The issue, as stated by the OP, is that the mobo supplies 12V on the RGB header while the associated RGB connector from the case expects 5V.

@morgankk other than returning stuff and getting components that are compatible out of the box, I don't know if there's any easy way to do this short of splicing cables and stuff.

If you want to connect the LEDs to you motherboard (which allows for software control of them), do you even need to connect them to your case though? You could just buy some 12V RGB LEDs that work with the mobo and connect them directly. You would lose the ability to control them manually via the buttons on the case though.

The buttons on the case allow for control of the lights that run along the front of the case. The wires allow for the motherboard to override the buttons to control all of the lights in the system.

Im not goingto buy a new case, so I was just trying to figure out a way to reduce the voltage off the motherboard to powet the onboard 5v lights in the case.

I have the same problem with Asus prime z390-p.
So you are saying that if I buy a 3-pin to 4-pin convertor cable an connect it, there will still not be any light ?

I'm having a similar issue, I have the p350x and a ROG z390-h MB. The MB has a 4 pin Rgb header and the case has 1 connector that is 4 pin with 1 hole plugged. I bought the Phantex adapter however there is no way that I can see to connect the case to the adapter.

Am I missing something obvious or were just SoL? For using Aura sync?
