Hello guys,

I would want to buy a new pair of headphones for gaming, but I am not sure which one of them should I go for, so I decided to ask your opinion abou the 2 headsets from the sunmary. I am a not so proud owner of Plantronics gamecom 780, don't get me wrong, the sound quality is nice and crisp but the and the mic is good, but the sound quality si not the best, I want to change them becaude the plastic from the headband broke and I cannot repair them as it's on a presure point. What I would want to ask you guys is which of the 2 headsets has better sound quality and if they have good build quality. The RIG 500E pair sounds so nice with the modulat set-up but I am scared that the sound quality had to suffer because of this, also I have heard alot of good things about the Cloud 2's and about their good sound quality...so this is the reason why I am scared, can you please post your opinion about them?
Thanks!

It sounds like you're sold on the modularity of the RIG 500E while you're equally swayed with the good reviews you've read of the Cloud II, the choice is your's really. Do note though the HyperX CloudII headest is USB powered and provide vitrual 7.1 audio which means you're not using our onboard sound card, you're also essentially having a stereo sound emulated/upmixed to provide a 7.1 sound stage albet virtually. The RIG 500E looks like it relies upon a USB connection too.

Armed with those info I'm going to suggest going with the HyperX Cloud II headset simply because it's been tried and tested by others out there while it's a follow up to the Cloud(I) and old folks will know it's a rebranded Qpad headset which in itself speaks volumes.
