right click does not work for jpg files only jpg files on win8

i have tried to follow this suggestion but cannot make change of mine, problem stay the same, i can right click on my com, task manager and whatsoever but only jpgs file that i cant.

i have installed anti-virus "nod32" but didnt try to scan it yet. Could it be a virus?

plz help me to clarify this problem, thx u in advance

Yes, i have acd see and windows viewer.

So just so I get thuis right, you can't right click a file with the .jpg extension but you can do it to any other file type. You can view .jpg files when you double click on them but right clicking to click Open With option fails to work, even if you only want to view the Properties.

yep, you said it right!!. you got it. So do you know how to solve this problem.

Nope. It's in the Registry somewhere and I'm on a Linux machine until 20:00 GMT this evening.

Fortunately, I'm not alone here - I'll call in some fellow Mods.

This helped a user with win10 so it may or may not work for win8 directly. It's worth a shot though.

The suggestion was to install a different photo viewing program and allow it to be the default for handling/opening .jpg files. Reboot the pc and then change the file association back to your preferred program and see if that will fix things.
