Right click on desktop "explorer stopped working"

hi everyone,

i have recently noticed when i right click on a blank space on my desktop that a message appears "explorer stopped working" "explorer restarting"

is there a fix for this problem ? iv read some things on other forums but no specific fix for the right click on desktop , they only seem to deal with right clicking files.

Could be a corrupt system file causing that.

Open an elevated command prompt: Start => In the Search box, type CMD => Right click the 'Command..." search result, and select "Run As Administrator"

This will open the Command shell with full priveleges.

From there, simply type in: sfc /scannow and press the enter key.


It can take a little while to run. Good time to go fetch a frosty beverage.
