Question right click on file is very slow to respond

This is a recent problem....I can open my folders with left & right click as normal, but when I want to open a file it can take from 10-20 seconds?...I know I can perform a re-set but would prefer to understand why this has happened and how to fix......I have tried sfc and DISM without any luck....thanks

what kind of file? text file?

Sorry for late reply....the files are mainly music (wav) but any file including text take many seconds instead of immediate as they once did.....I am on Windows 10 (home) version 2004 that updated on the 14th Oct and I cannot roll back.

Folders open immediately on left/right click...it just seems to be the files that are slow to load?

Thanks for the reply..........The problem is now fixed after I used the ALL IN ONE WINDOWS REPAIR (free version) from
tweaking.com..............I followed the instructions to the full and it fixed the issue..................well worth you advise subscribers
to download the free version.
