I have a Synology DS215J NAS that's fitted with a single 3TB WD Red after the second failed on me.

The problem is this, the NAS works flawlessly UNLESS I right click on a zip file on the drive and then it causes explorer to crash out.

I Can click on Zip files elsewhere without an issue but doing so on the NAS causes an explorer crash.

I have done a scan on file system files and it found and repaired errors but the issue persists, anyone have any idea?

What are you using to extract the zip files?

Does the following link show the process that you are using and is crashing on you?

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/zip-and-unzip-files-f6dde0a7-0fec-8294-e1d3-703ed85e7ebc

Are there any error codes associated with the crashes?

Look in Reliability History and Event Viewer.

Try running "sfc /scannow" and "dism" via the Command Prompt. (Noted that you did a scan so you may have already tried "sfc/scannow". No harm in verifying...)
