I answered a request to update my drivers and a free cleanup offer. I guess I got new drivers after paying $27.00.
I was shifted to another person for the free cleanup. What I got was a request to o.k. a $300.00 dollar charge. They would keep my computer clean.
This is the second or third time this has happened. Is this a known rip off? Must I avoid all notices of problems buy sellers of programs? Why can't I have my computer cleaned myself? If this is a rip off we need to warn the public.
Any comments?

This is called spam or a scam. Do you answer everyone who tells you that a Nigerian prince needs to get $10M out of the country and will give you a 5% cut if you give them your bank account number? Or someone who shows up at your front door selling vacuum cleaners or knifes?

Where did you find out about them?

News, or ads run on a news channel?

Ads are not illegal, and charging for a product not worth buying isn't either. Nothing special about it being related to your computer; ads will tell you you need to get all kinds of crap.

Ignoring ads and informercials is generally a good idea; if they have to pay someone to tell you it's a good product, it probably isn't.
