Ripjaws Vs Trident?

Solution
Tridents have been GSkill's high performance sticks so should have more OC headroom. Just put together a Z170/6600K with 16GB of Ripjaws V 2x8GB, but am waiting for the Trident Z release to get a 32GB set for the build, should be able to confirm once they hit the shelves 😉
With RAM, just like with most components, it's in the specs what matters. If it's rated to a specific speed, that's what you're going for. G.Skil is a great brand, and any of their gaming RAM will work out great. I believe the Trident is newer and likely has better "binned" parts, that would allow a greater OC. But honestly, the difference is beyond minimal for 99.99% of the users.
