ripping or copying vcd to hard disk

hai every one
i tried to copy a dat file from vcd to hard disk but i couldnt , its
says i/o device error .even i tried to convert directly to mpeg using
vcd gear even that didnt work, i also tried with vcd cut but it
doesnt.i have lg combo drive.is there any way to copy the file or any
software can do it.or is the problem with my drive..kindly advice

some people tamper with vcd files and create a damaged sector deliberately
which stops you copying it.........seen this many a time with pron
vcds.....give up you cant do it!

usually clone cd will copy it ok but its a straight copy you cant redo the
burn by copying the dat etc
