I'm missing several INI files on R&R. Any ideas?

List them please. There are several .ini bugs mentioned here recently
that are easily corrected with re-labeling.

Is there a place that lists the RAR bugs and fixes?

Thanks

but I don't think it's up to date.

OK, that's not one mentioned yet. Check the names of all files and
make sure they're the same in every place they're mentioned in the
text files.

I also was missing "English Infantry" but managed to get 'round that one by
not upgrading until I had "Grunt".

I can find no file(s)/folder(s) for either German Infantry nor English
Infantry.

Because I can't load German Infantry, the game is unplayable.

Can you give me a path to where the infantry should be?

C:\infocomgames\civ3\rar\art\units, something like that.

I can't completely run this down today, but I looked in my Pediacons
file for RAR (C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization
III\Conquests\Scenarios\RAR\Text) and found these:

#ANIMNAME_PRTO_British_Infantry
British Rifleman
#ANIMNAME_PRTO_German_Infantry
German Rifleman

These are in the DYP units sub-section, not the new RAR units section
at the very bottom. I haven't played Germany yet in RAR, but my
install of RAR gives me the British rifleman as a guy wearing a pith
helmet (Boer War era), and British infantry as a WWI-type of uniform.
The Boer guy is crouched over making a bayonet thrust; the WWI guy is
standing up erect. I'm not sure, but I think Boer-guy does not upgrade
to Infantry, but Infantry does to Grunt. Never checked the Civpedia to
see if that was correct.

Note it's British Infantry, not English Infantry. The German problem
might be fixable by copying the DYP file into the RAR section and
checking it against the Civpedia text file to make names match. I did
that to fix the Apache Longbow/Longbow Apache transpose error in RAR.
A DYP unit icon should work just as well in RAR. If you want to tweak
its numbers you can in the editor once it's installed.

Hope this helped. I'm not the Civ3 file guru some others are here.

Following myself up . . .

Realized you asked about art and not text files. I see a Prussian
Fusiler for the rifleman variant, but no German Infantry art, even
though the Civpedia text file calls for it as the upgrade from
fusilier.

I guess you could sub in any of the infantry art files and
rename/respec them. I haven't seen this reported as a bug to the dev
team.

Steve, the problem is in the folders. One of the self installers installs
the files in the wrong place. I've got folders within folders. DOH!

I'm currently sorting it out, what a pain.
