Rise of the Tomb Raider not allowing 144hz

Im Currently running an asus xg27vq it says whenever I check that my monitor is running in 144hz, I have an i7 5930k not oc and a r9 290 4gb of ggdr5. So now when I goto boot Rise of the Tombraider and go into setting i'll enable exclusive fullscreen (So i can change refresh rates) and set the game to 144hz, after I close the settings tab and re open it, my refresh rate will be set back to 60hz but other settings will be saved. Thanks in Advance for any help

Ok well I feel like an idiot of scavenging the web for an answer for some reason I just tried fully booting the game and seeing and I was able to switch my resolution ingame.
