i have a 6800 vanilla. it has 12 pixel pipeline(pp). with rivatuner i heard that you can get 16 pixel pipelines. the card has 16 but only 12 are enabled. is it worth unlocking them i play bf2 alot and on medium settings, would it be a noiticed improvement. I bet the 3d mark scores will improve.

true riva tuner has a section for activating hidden pixel pipelines
but before you do that read the help menu by right clicking on the function command
at what res do u play?
and just to gain a few fps and a better 3dmark ,man i would let those pipelines in peace

if they were available to unlock I'd certainly do it. I did it with my friend's 6200. It ran alot nicer but then again, that was like doubling the pipelines. This would make for a nice improvement but just don't expect TOO much. I'm also curious about the resolution you play at...

Here's a link to an article for the 6200 that I did as well. Just to see some results.

Are you going to OC? Just asking because Parge had a 6800 that he unlocked the extra pipes with and and extra shader. This was last year around may. He couldn't OC it though...
I'll dig up the link...

You may very well be able to enable those other 4 pipes, but they may or may not work properly. If you enable them and nothing bad happens, great. But if you enable them and something bad does happen then you may be sol so to speak. However,I did try enabling extra pipes in a 6600gt I had and it made the graphics all screwed up.Fortunately A fresh re-install of the operating system fixed the problem.Worst case scenario, you have to buy a new graphics card.Goodluck.

i run my res at 1240 by 1024 something like that. what would be the best option of getting the ultimate performance out of the 6800.
