Riven not working

Hello,I have the 10th Anniversary Edition of Riven and it freezes occasionally on Win Vista and always on Win 7. The high level of technology involved to run these old games is too much for Windows OS of today but ran very well for Win 95 which had the high level of technology to run this game that today's operating systems do not. Any help?

What is your issue and system specs exactly? Does the game just lockup? Can you play other games with no issues?

On Win 7 it locks up and the video does not play such as the rotating room in the beginning which only shows the doorway being blocked but not the rotating of the room video (that is one example). Overall it locks up and after doing CTRL, ALT, Delete task manager shows "Riven not responding". This is on a Gateway Laptop with an Intel Core i3 2.13 GHz, 4 Gb of RAM of which 3.68 is usable and a 64 bit OS.
