RMA 6870 replaced by R7 250X

Hi, my old GIGABYTE R687OC-1GD gave up it's fight and I've got RMA replacement R7 250X 1GB (ASUS R7250X-1GD5). I haven't installed it yet as it seems like a ripoff to me and I was not informed by retailer about this exchange. It doesn't seem to be the same performance level. Should I keep it or should I ask for some other GPU or $?

The 6870 should be between the 260 and 260x. You may want to contact the retailer.
